Chris Wallace’s greatest passion is
person-to-person technology knowledge transfer – but that only
begins to explain his excitement at the thought of working directly
with people to share his knowledge and gain insight into other’s
knowledge of technology. We’re talking software development,
particularly using C# and Chris is talking about it all the time!
|
|
| |
|
A few minutes of live interaction about technology trumps numerous back
and forth written communications. Live time is not only preferred, but saves
time and frustration in the long run. Videos, blogs, forums, and chats are
wonderful ways to extend and build upon those individual or small group
sessions and each method of delivery and learning has its place. Chris
believes that if you can make it when talking directly to one or a few
fellow developers, then you can more easily broaden your experiences with
groups as well as other media (it’s all good). Interaction is where it’s at,
creating professional networks and growing real friendships. |
|
Chris is a software and business consultant, speaker, and user group
leader in Microsoft technologies, emphasizing the Microsoft Visual Studio
tool set with Visual C# and all the cool and business proficient ways to use
technology. He has extensive experience working in the US and Europe. His
goal is to deliver complete application development solutions to meet real
world business needs while exploring the edge (he says, “If you aren’t
living on the edge, you’re taking up too much space!”). |
|
Along the way, he has earned a Masters degree in Computer Information
Systems from the University of Denver. He is a private pilot and long time
member of the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association), plus a worldwide
adventure traveler. When not solving the world's business technology
problems, he can be found on the slopes of the Colorado Rockies with his
team of Siberian Huskies. |
|
In September 2009, he was presented an award for his service
to INETA and the user group community. A plaque was awarded by the INETA
Board of Directors and the entire user group community as a token of thanks
for all of his contributions, time, and effort spent supporting the
community while serving on the INETA Board of Directors. On the accompanying
letter, the INETA President stated that INETA exists because of passionate
individuals like Chris, who are motivated to make a difference by getting
involved and that our community is a better place because of the work he has
done. |
|
As an INETA volunteer for six years, Chris served on the INETA Board of
Directors as Vice President and in charge of all Membership for nearly three
years and before that he was the User Group Relations Committee Chairperson
for two years. He continues to work for the user group community and
continues as a user group leader for Colorado. INETA is the International
.NET Association of user groups. |
|
Chris has been the Leader of the
Denver Visual Studio User Group since March 1996. In July, 2004, he
was honored by his user group members with a "Life Time Achievement
Award" in tribute to his many years of service to his user group,
perhaps a bit too soon, since he is still going strong with the
enthusiasm of a newbie! |
 |
|
He is proud to be a current Microsoft MVP (Microsoft Most Valuable
Professional) in Visual C#, having been awarded that honor for each
of the past nine years (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010,
2011, 2012, 2013). |
