device specific output.
.NET Compact
Framework - makes Visual Studio .NET developers into smart device
developers.
SQL Server CE -
extends enterprise data management to mobile devices with the familiar feel
of SQL Server.
and much more . . .

GotDotNET - BUILDING UPON THE FRAMEWORK |
| |
|
| |
 |
. . . He's baaack . . . Roy and his
popular monthly series returns this month!
The key to opening up doors with Visual Studio .NET, including Visual Basic
.NET and Visual C# .NET, is understanding the .NET Framework. Each month Roy presents a short technical topic of interest for us on how to use
the .NET Framework. He shows us how to get the most of it with code samples
for both Visual Basic .NET and Visual C# .NET developers. |

"A Guided Garden Stroll through the .NET
Framework Class Library"
By
Roy Ogborn, Orbonyx Corporation
The .NET Framework includes over 8,500 objects and nearly 175,000 methods
that you can use to build solutions. If you are of "the cup is half full"
type, then you will realize that Microsoft has not created an additional
burden for us, they have instead written millions of lines of code for us
that we no longer have to create. They have done this in a very organized,
easy to follow way using Namespaces. This is a very huge productivity boost
for those willing to spend some time seeing what functionality Microsoft has
put at our fingertips (for free, no less!).
Roy has been professionally developing enterprise grade .NET Object Oriented
applications for various clients for well over a year and has been otherwise
immersed in .NET for over two years now. In this month's session, he will
cover some of the core .NET namespaces with emphasis on those classes that
he has found quite helpful in the business applications he has built. Please
join Roy on a "Guided Garden Stroll through the .NET Framework Class
Library". |

Enterprise Architect Edition. He participated in the July 2000 Microsoft

|
| |
Q&A
The .NET Framework includes over 8,500 objects and
nearly 175,000 methods that you can use to build solutions. Some call it
intimidating, but it's also a great opportunity to create better solutions
than ever before. Read books, take classes, check out articles, exercise
sample code, and of course keep attending your user group meetings and labs
plus other Microsoft events! How else can you effectively learn .NET?
Microsoft Webcasts are one way to learn .NET. Attend a live event at
your computer or watch a previous Webcast today! You can participate by
attending Microsoft's live, interactive online events. Experts from the
industry demonstrate, discuss and answer questions on the latest software
from Microsoft. See

Microsoft
Rocky Mountain Supplies Software, Grants |
| |
|
| |
 |
The
Microsoft
Rocky Mountain
District office announced that more the 50 non-profit organizations received
software donations and grants totaling more than $2 million for the
fiscal year ending June 30, 2002. The recipients, representing a variety
of organizations helping the underserved, are located throughout
Colorado. |
|
| |
Microsoft has a strong belief that if you provide people the resources they
need, they can accomplish great things. That philosophy is the foundation of
their software business. It also is the foundation of their community
affairs effort. Through their local giving programs, they seek to bring the
benefits of information technology to people and communities who do not have
access to this technology.
Grants expand access to information technologies and enhance learning and
communication in disadvantaged communities. Grants are intended to support
public and non-profit institutions providing innovative programs that
connect individuals of all ages to learning resources. |
