Microsoft’s Web UX platform: Silverlight,
ASP.NET, and AJAX
with Tim Heuer, Microsoft Developer Evangelist |
|
| |
|
|
Let’s take a
deeper look at leveraging the web platform of technologies in a
different way. We’ll look at Silverlight and creating your own
controls, integrating with HTML controls, and using Silverlight with
data services. |

Pop
quiz: What do you get when you mix a SCUBA diver, golfer, and
criminal justice major? |
|
 |
|
A software developer, of course!
Tim Heuer works with
Microsoft in the field organization focused on helping our
developer communities. Tim is based in the sweltering heat
of Arizona and regularly travels across the western United
States including AZ, CO, NM, UT, and NV. |
|
|
|
Tim
comes to Microsoft from the partner community and has worked
with worked with Microsoft developer tools and technologies
since the early 1990s. Tim is extremely passionate about
Microsoft, but also enjoys learning new technologies and
frameworks that exist. His main passion lies in the web
technologies and loves working with software developers to
share and learn knowledge in this space. |
|
 |
|
| |
In his spare time, Tim loves
to spend time with his family traveling, spending most of his
vacation time under water with SCUBA, and trying to beat his friends
in golf. He's inflicted with the unfortunate disease that his work
is also his hobby and he loves technology. You can usually find him
behind the keyboard trying to learn something new. He's also way
too fascinated with everything new and might as well have the
nickname "version 1" as he's the first to install betas, buy new
hardware gadgets, whatever...nothing fears his desire to be a part
of technology! You can usually find him online, so give him a chat! |

Have you ever created a software framework or tools to take care of the
repetitive tasks on your projects? If you have, you created a form of a
software factory. Microsoft’s patterns and practices team has focused on
developing a set of software factories for many common types of development:
Smart Clients, Web Clients, Mobile Clients, and Web Services. These
factories are excellent to use as is, but can also be extended with your own
customizations to suit your specific situation.
This session will take a deeper look at what
constitutes a software factory and the tools used to create and modify a
software factory. Additionally, we will take a cursory look at each of
the software factories created by Microsoft and take a deep dive into the
Smart Client Software Factory with examples of how to get started and use a
foundation that is well documented and thoroughly tested.
This month's presenter is Daren May of EMC.
EMC Corporation
is the world's leading developer and provider of information infrastructure
technology and solutions. |
