Advanced LINQ - Taming
the Query from Hades!
with Joe Mayo, Microsoft MVP,
author, instructor, consultant, speaker |
| |
|
LINQ to
SQL is Microsoft's recent technology for working with SQL
Server data. If you've been using LINQ to SQL for a while,
you'll know that it is very sophisticated, but with that
sophistication comes complexity.
In this
presentation, Joe Mayo will address some of the more
advanced features of LINQ to SQL and help you bridge the gap
between the simple queries you see in quick demos and the
reality you live with every day in Visual Studio 2008.
You'll quickly move from a simple query to more
sophisticated scenarios with groups and joins.
Joe will
discuss architecture and show you the pros and cons of
different approaches for using LINQ to SQL in your
applications.
A portion of
the presentation will be dedicated to helping you understand
concurrency and the flexibility available to you in
resolving conflicts.
To round out
the presentation, Joe will also show you a practical
application of lambdas, expression trees, and extension
methods that will bring you closer to understanding the
internals of how LINQ to SQL works and give you insight into
how you can solve more challenging problems on your own. |

Web

automation
Web
Services represents a platform on which you can automate
your infrastructure to meet the demands of your business
applications
Xiotech
has met these challenges by introducing web services as the
platform its storage subsystems are managed by. This makes
it easier for you as the developer to automate and customize
your OS, application and storage interaction requirements.
Visual
Studio is one of the Microsoft labs utilizing Xiotech

Dynamic
Data
with Steve Dzilvelis, Senior Sales
Engineer |
|
Dynamic
data denotes information that is asynchronously changed as
further updates to the information become available.
The opposite of this is static data, which is literally
a snap-shot of information at a particular point in time.
Dynamic data is also different from streaming data, in that
there is no constant flow of information. Rather, updates
may come at any time, with periods of inactivity in between.
